Downtown El Cajon Business Partners brings San Diego East San Diego County s first-ever art festival Artiv l debuting on June Photo courtesy of Olive Population Relations A new cultural tradition is coming to East County on Saturday June when Downtown El Cajon debuts Artiv l East San Diego County s first-ever arts festival The free open-air celebration brings together local creatives musicians food and drink vendors and the society to highlight the city s cultural identity Held from a m to p m in the heart of Downtown El Cajon at Main Magnolia the event kicks off the summer season with a showcase of more than artists and makers interactive installations live music and gourmet food trucks For those and up East County Arts Association has curated a ticketed Wine Beer Garden experience that adds an elevated offering with tastings from local wineries craft brew and beverage brands El Cajon is one of the largest part diverse cities in the county and yet East County has never had an arts festival to call its own announced Chris Berg marketing engagement manager for the city of El Cajon and Downtown El Cajon Business Partners Board Member Artiv l is our way of creating a new tradition for the population and visitors to experience the city s creativity Plus the sun is consistently shining in El Cajon in June Artiv l s mission is to transform Downtown El Cajon s general spaces into a living canvas spark cultural dialogue and create lasting access to the arts in a part of San Diego that s long been underserved by creative services Featuring a lineup of visual and performing artists from rising talents to veteran creatives Artiv l celebrates the full spectrum of local artistry across disciplines and cultures Throughout the day attendees can enjoy an Art Walk from a m to p m turning the streets into an outdoor gallery of local and regional artists across a wide range of mediums Food lovers can indulge in flavor-packed bites from East County s favorite mobile kitchens also available from a m to p m For guests and over the Wine Beer Garden will be open from to p m with tastings from JuneShine Flying Embers Burning Beard Brewery The Tap Truck East San Diego Granite Lion Winery Fog Wine Co and Snake Oil Co Live music will fill the streets from to p m starting with high-energy pop funk and soul from Cassie B from a m to p m Later in the afternoon Kimba Light will bring its blend of Latin funk and Afro-Caribbean fusion from to p m Wine Beer Garden tickets will be available onsite Guests can purchase tasting tickets for or five tasting tickets for Each tasting equals one ticket while full pours require two tickets Cocktail tickets are each and will be sold at Belly Bar next to the Snake Oil canopy Wine Beer Garden tickets will be available at the entrance of the fenced garden and can be purchased with cash or a card Artiv l is free and open to the masses For more information visit www artivalsandiego com
